About SAI

The National Staff Development Council (NSDC) developed the Standards Assessment Inventory (SAI), a 60-item multiple-choice instrument with approximately 5 questions per standard. Schools and districts can use the results of the SAI to learn whether their staff development programs are aligned with NSDC’s Standards for Staff Development and the Council’s definition of quality staff development.

About our work

GreenRiver.org developed, and now hosts, administers and supports the online version of the SAI.  This allows eductors to log on and complete the survey, and then provide general reporting back to the district, including means per standard and means and frequency distributions per item.  Over the past several years, several hundred thousand educators have used our software and have received online charts about the professional development in schools and districts.
